If you could go back in time to any Reading Festival...

I think I would definitely say 1991. Not because I'm some sort of grunge fanatic, its because the line up was very diverse for a time when they could have easily packed the bill with american bands but it was quite varied. Would've loved to have seen Nirvana then, Sonic Youth playing so high would have also been a treat! Oh and on the Saturday the idea of Teenage Fanclub, Blur, De La Soul then The Fall all playing in a row would've been amazing. Neds Atomic Dustbin looked epic as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTfdmQOM-zE

2003 or 2002 for me. Would love to have Seen Pulp & The Strokes back to back, and obviously 2003 has Jay-Z, Blur, System & Metallica. Actually going back in time to 2004 would be fun, to see how I'd find my first reading as an adult.

1996, to see The Stone Roses headline, Rage and prodigy are there too, but looking at 1997 you got Cast on then Suede fan-bloomin-tastic! and the manics the day after!

ORIGINAL: Reue 2003, without a doubt. My first ever Reading festival and nothing will top it. Amazing lineup coupled with an amazing time. It was my first weekend at Reading, I'd done days before but it is definitely my favourite. Not because of any bands I saw, but because the weather was awesome and it was just good times!
You're perfect, yes, it's true, but without me you're only you. Your menstruating heart, it ain't bleedin' enough for two.

I'd go back to my first Reading, 96, and do it all differently. With hindsight, there were so many great bands that I missed by watching rubbish... Certainly wouldn't stand thriugh the Stone Roses again when Underworld are on. What was I thinking?
Possibly TV isn't much of a role model, but then have you seen real life these days?

I was there on the Sunday in '92. It was immense. I'd like to relive it but being a bit older. I was only 16 at the time. I got surged forward right to the front for Nirvana, there was steam coming off everywhere, people were passing out all around me and my feet literally barely touched the ground for the whole set. I'll never forget it. Must get round to buying that DVD
